The Forward Deployed Engineering team partners with customers to turn research breakthroughs into production systems.
The team works at the intersection of customer delivery and core development with Product, Research, and Go-To-Market.

Own delivery state across workstreams and help OpenAI learn through execution.
Workplace and travel
- The role is based in Abu Dhabi and uses a hybrid work model with three days in the office per week.
- Travel up to 50% is required.
- Relocation assistance is offered.
Responsibilities
- Own technical delivery across multiple deployments from prototype through stable production.
- Build full-stack systems and contribute directly to code when needed.
- Embed with customer teams, understand needs, and guide adoption.
- Scope work, sequence delivery, remove blockers, and balance scope, speed, and quality.
- Codify patterns into tools, playbooks, or reusable building blocks.
- Share field feedback with Research and Product about model performance.
- Keep teams moving through clarity and follow-through.
Qualifications
- Bring 5+ years of engineering or technical deployment experience that includes customer-facing work.
- Have scoped and delivered complex systems in fast-moving or ambiguous environments.
- Write and review production-grade frontend and backend code using Python, JavaScript, or comparable stacks.
- Have built or deployed systems powered by LLMs or generative models.
- Communicate clearly with engineers, product teams, and customer stakeholders.
- Make sound decisions under pressure and spot risks early.
