The role
The Forward Deployed Engineer works at the intersection of engineering and customer impact on LumApps AI initiatives, including Micro-Apps and Agents.
The role deploys integrated AI solutions for strategic customers and contributes to reusable platform capabilities.
Candidates must be located in the Greater Toronto Area.
Missions
- Embed with customers to map complex data environments and identify high-friction workflows, including HR onboarding and IT support.
- Build proof-of-concept AI agents and integrations using APIs, webhooks, and LLMs within the LumApps ecosystem.
- Architect middleware and custom connectors connecting LumApps with systems such as SAP, Workday, or ServiceNow.
- Identify field integration patterns and share feedback with Core R&D.
- Contribute code to improve the core platform and abstract custom solutions into scalable industry vertical packs.
- Deploy live AI agents and integrations through rapid cycles while addressing technical constraints.
Skills and qualifications
- Six or more years of engineering or technical deployment experience, including customer-facing work.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, with analytical thinking and software development ability.
- Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, Java, or Python; comfort with frontend frameworks such as React and backend API design.
- Interest in Generative AI, RAG architecture, AI frameworks, and agentic workflows.
- Full professional proficiency in English.
- Willingness to travel for regular on-site workshops with customers across North America.
Bonus skills
- Direct customer consulting experience and designing high-value solutions are bonuses.
- Scrum experience is a bonus.
- Knowledge of enterprise identity frameworks such as OIDC, OAuth 2.0, or SAML is a bonus.
- Bilingual professional fluency in English and French is a bonus.
Compensation
- The stated salary range associated with the position is $160,000–$190,000 CAD; no pay cadence is specified.
