About the Role
Forward Deployed Engineers lead complex end-to-end deployments of frontier models for strategic customers.
The role owns discovery, technical scoping, system design, implementation, and production rollout while partnering with customer engineering and domain teams.
Success is measured through production adoption, workflow impact, and evaluation-driven feedback that informs product and model roadmaps.
Workplace and Travel
- The role is based in Sydney and follows a hybrid model with three days in the office per week.
- Travel of up to 50 percent is required.
- Relocation assistance is offered.
Responsibilities
- Own technical delivery across deployments from prototype to stable production.
- Build full-stack systems and contribute directly to code when needed.
- Embed with customer teams, understand their needs, and guide adoption.
- Scope work, sequence delivery, remove blockers, and protect delivery through informed trade-offs.
- Codify working patterns into tools, playbooks, or reusable building blocks.
- Share field feedback with Research and Product to improve models and products.
- Keep teams moving through clarity and follow-through.
Qualifications
- Bring at least 5 years of engineering or technical deployment experience including customer-facing work.
- Have scoped and delivered complex systems in fast-moving or ambiguous environments.
- Write and review production-grade frontend and backend code using Python, JavaScript, or comparable stacks.
- Have built or deployed systems powered by LLMs or generative models.
- Communicate clearly with engineers, product teams, and customer stakeholders.
- Simplify complexity, make sound decisions under pressure, and identify risks early.
