Role overview

A customer-facing Forward Deployed Engineer role at Advanced Navigation, working where navigation products meet real-world customer applications.

The role supports deployments from pre-sales evaluations through post-sales integration and customer use.

Owns delivery for a portfolio of customer deployments under the general direction of the Forward Deployed Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities

Assess customer geospatial navigation requirements and business objectives; recommend and customise solutions with the sales team.
Demonstrate products and communicate solution capabilities to technical and non-technical audiences.
Embed with customer engineering teams to integrate INS, GNSS/INS and FOG-based systems into land, air, maritime and robotics platforms.
Configure, mount, align and tune systems; resolve interface, timing, communications-protocol and environmental issues.
Plan field tests, trials and proofs of concept; define success criteria and analyse position, velocity, acceleration and orientation data against reference truth.
Present evidence-based results to stakeholders and feed structured customer feedback and feature requests to Product and R&D.
Contribute to documentation, application notes, integration guides and knowledge bases.
Support sales and customers through evaluations and deployment; manage timelines, updates, technical inquiries, issues and escalations.

Role expectations

Explain technical and geospatial concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
Work hands-on with customer engineering teams and take ownership of deployment delivery under manager direction.
