Customer-embedded engineering role based in Calgary, Alberta, with a hybrid arrangement; remote candidates elsewhere in Canada may also be considered.
The engineer connects business discovery with hands-on software development, production delivery, and customer support.
What you will do
- Understand customer work and workflows; identify AI use cases and define acceptance criteria.
- Build, test, and validate AI applications, assistants, and agent workflows; integrate them with enterprise systems and secure access controls.
- Productionize and operate AWS solutions with automated testing, AI evaluations, deployment, monitoring, alerts, cost analytics, and support.
- Test with users, support adoption, document solutions, collaborate across customer and VistaVu teams, and improve reliability.
- Develop reusable components and patterns from customer work; review developers’ work and support their growth.
What you bring
- Production software experience and strong TypeScript, Angular, Node.js, and Python skills.
- Practical LLM experience, including RAG, tool use, or agent workflows, and production application experience with the Claude API.
- API integration and experience with structured and unstructured data, databases, authentication, access controls, and data quality.
- Business discovery, workflow mapping, clear communication, and ownership of secure and reliable delivery.
- AWS serverless experience with Lambda, DynamoDB, and Aurora DSQL.
- SAP/ERP integration experience is an asset; additional cloud platforms or managed AI services are preferred.
- Knowledge of finance, supply chain, inventory, manufacturing, or customer service processes.
