First Line IT Support Engineer

Compensation

• The stated salary is £26,000.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite IT support at customer locations in Greater Manchester.
• Act as the first point of contact for customer IT incidents and service requests.
• Log, manage, and update support tickets accurately in the helpdesk system.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and basic networking issues.
• Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or project teams.
• Collaborate with the Projects Team on installations, upgrades, and infrastructure deployments.
• Identify potential issues proactively and take preventative action.
• Maintain IT security compliance and report suspected security incidents.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of experience in a customer-facing IT support role.
• Microsoft 365 or Azure Fundamentals knowledge or certification.
• Strong PC and laptop hardware troubleshooting knowledge.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems and Microsoft 365 productivity tools.
• Basic understanding of Active Directory.
• Basic TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP networking knowledge.
• Experience using IT service management or ticketing systems.

Workplace and schedule

• The role requires onsite support at customer locations in Greater Manchester.
• Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:30, totaling 37.5 hours per week.
