Role Overview

This is an opportunity to join SRVO’s growing Risk team as a Fire and Health & Safety Risk Assessor, working across a portfolio of purpose-built residential developments throughout the UK.

You’ll be conducting site-based fire and H&S risk assessments on behalf of residential property managers, producing high-quality reports and providing clear, practical guidance to clients on compliance and remedial action.

The role is remote-based with regular travel to sites across London.

It suits a technically confident Assessor who is comfortable working autonomously, managing their own schedule and building trusted client relationships.

Role Expectations

You’ll plan and execute your own site visits, producing accurate and timely risk assessments to a consistently high standard.

You’ll be expected to work independently while staying closely connected to the wider team.

Clients are primarily residential property managers overseeing large, purpose-built developments.

You’ll liaise directly with them to explain findings, agree remedial action plans and support them in meeting their compliance obligations.

Technical rigour matters.

Assessments must reflect current legislation and best practice, and your advice will often inform how clients prioritise and schedule significant remedial works.

What Success Looks Like

  • You’ll be successful in this role if:
  • You consistently deliver accurate, well-structured risk assessments on time
  • Clients understand your findings and trust your advice
  • You manage your diary and travel efficiently, meeting KPI targets
  • Your technical knowledge is current and applied with sound professional judgement
  • You build strong, long-term relationships with clients and colleagues

HOW YOU’LL SPEND MOST OF YOUR TIME

  • Most weeks, you’ll be:
  • Conducting Fire Risk Assessments and General H&S Risk Assessments on residential developments
  • Producing clear, accurate reports with prioritised recommendations for remedial works
  • Liaising with residential property manager clients to explain findings and support compliance
  • Advising clients on remedial work schedules and helping them navigate the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
  • Peer reviewing colleague assessments to maintain quality standards
  • Attending client meetings when required
  • Keeping up to date with fire safety legislation, British Standards and industry best practice

Who This Role Is For

  • This role suits someone who:
  • Has proven, hands-on experience conducting Fire and H&S Risk Assessments
  • Holds a NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety (or equivalent, Level 3) — essential
  • Holds a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent, Level 3) — essential
  • Is comfortable working remotely and managing their own workload and travel schedule
  • Communicates clearly and professionally in both written reports and client-facing settings
  • Has a full, clean driving licence and is willing to travel, including occasional overnight stays

Experience That Helps

  • FPA Level 4 in Fire Risk Assessment or equivalent (desirable but not essential)
  • Professional membership or accreditation with the Fire Protection Association, Institute of Fire Engineers, Institute of Fire Safety Managers or similar
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications in Health & Safety management
  • Experience working on purpose-built residential or multi-occupancy buildings
  • Strong knowledge of British Standards related to fire and life safety systems

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary aligned to experience
  • Discretionary bonus
  • Remote working with flexibility built in
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Financial support for personal development and professional qualifications
  • Opportunities for career growth within a growing Risk team
  • Employee referral scheme
  • In-house Travel Perk portal
