Qualifications Include

  • BS degree in engineering or related science from accredited university
  • Fire Protection Engineering specific degree (preferred)
  • From 3-5 years of professional AEC Consulting experience
  • PE (desired) Passed the fire protection engineering exam required
  • Passed the fire protection engineering exam required
  • EIT with ability to obtain PE
  • Experience with the current version of AutoCAD and Revit (preferred)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Required Duties and Skills

  • Attend and participate in local and national professional organizations, such as SFPE and NFPA
  • Perform building and fire code analysis and code interpretations
  • Provide peer reviews of colleagues’ work product
  • Have or be developing an “area of expertise” within fire protection engineering
  • Design new fire protection systems including suppression systems, fire detection, alarm and communication systems. Perform analysis of existing fire protection systems
  • Interest and ability to advance to a senior engineer or project manager position.
  • Possess basic level computer skills necessary for daily activities including email, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, and a working knowledge of computer‐aided drafting and Revit, (fire dynamic simulation for fire protection engineers).
  • Perform consulting services for internal clients, utilizing Fire Protection engineering concepts.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.
