Role Description
The Fire Fighting Site Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai.
This position oversees the day-to-day execution of fire fighting and fire protection system installation works, including sprinklers, hydrants, pumps, hose reels, and related equipment.
The engineer coordinates with site teams, contractors, and consultants to ensure work is carried out according to drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
Key responsibilities
include supervising site activities, monitoring progress, performing inspections, and verifying quality and safety compliance.
The role also involves preparing daily site reports, resolving technical issues, supporting site testing and commissioning, and liaising with authorities and internal project managers to keep projects on schedule and within scope.
Qualifications
- Strong on-site supervision capabilities, including experience managing daily site activities and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Effective communication skills to interact with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.
- Quality control competencies, including conducting inspections, verifying compliance with standards, and documenting site observations.
- Background in structural engineering and civil engineering principles relevant to fire fighting system installation and integration with building works.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Knowledge of fire protection systems, relevant codes and standards (e.g., NFPA or equivalent), and local authority requirements in Dubai or the UAE.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, and method statements.
- Familiarity with site safety practices, risk assessment, and compliance with HSE policies and procedures.
- Ability to work under time constraints, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing project needs.
- Previous experience in fire fighting or MEP contracting environments in the GCC region is an advantage.
