Role overview

Fire assay duties

• Ensure quality and quantity of samples throughout fire assay analysis and follow procedures safely and diligently.
• Maintain lead fusion equipment daily and submit a quality sample of silver beads to the Wet Chem Laboratory.

Safety and operations

• Wear required PPE, follow hygiene procedures, maintain safety, and report accidents and incidents.
• Participate in shift activities to support regular customer needs.
• Report maintenance needs, maintain a clean work area, and follow analytical methods as instructed.

Quality and administration

• Contribute to record keeping and document control.
• Inform management about laboratory problems and low inventory, attend training as required, and maintain good relationships with clients, authorities, and community assemblies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience in a similar position.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Understand lead fusion methods, sample type recognition, sample preparation, and Wet Chem procedures; be able to perform all lead fusion operations.
• English skills are mandatory.
