Financial Systems Director

Role purpose

ERP strategy and transformation

• Define and execute the Group Finance Systems roadmap and establish governance, policies, and controls for financial systems and data.
• Standardize finance processes across business segments and subsidiaries; evaluate technologies and recommend enhancements.
• Lead end-to-end ERP implementation, upgrades, transformations, and rollouts across multiple entities, divisions, and locations.
• Deploy finance modules for general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, project accounting, procurement, and budgeting.
• Oversee user acceptance testing, system validation, and change management.

Systems and project accounting

• Own SAP ERP and related financial applications, ensuring stability, performance, security, and scalability.
• Maintain architecture supporting consolidation and financial reporting and collaborate with IT to optimize performance and functionality.
• Ensure ERP supports EPC and construction project accounting, including project costing, WBS structures, contract revenue recognition, and project reporting.
• Support supply chain, trading, procurement, and inventory finance through integrated systems and automate financial and operational reporting.

Governance, reporting, and stakeholders

• Improve financial data quality, integrity, and governance; establish master data management across group entities.
• Ensure internal control, audit, and financial governance compliance; develop automated controls to reduce reporting risk.
• Drive management reporting and BI solutions, real-time dashboards, KPI reporting, and financial analytics; integrate ERP platforms with BI tools.
• Liaise with Finance, IT, consultants, and business leaders; lead workshops to gather requirements and define enhancements.
• Present strategy, transformation initiatives, and performance metrics to executives; manage vendor and implementation-partner relationships.

Education and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• SAP ERP certification is mandatory; a master's degree such as an MBA, MIS, Finance, or Technology Management is highly preferred.
• 10–12+ years managing financial systems, ERP platforms, or finance technology functions.
• Track record leading large-scale ERP implementations and transformations, including rollouts across multiple legal entities and business divisions.
• Experience supporting diversified holding groups and managing external system integrators, consultants, and technology vendors.
• Strong finance systems experience in large construction, EPC, infrastructure, or industrial organizations.

Industry knowledge and capabilities

• Strong understanding of ERP requirements in EPC, construction, infrastructure, and project-based businesses.
• Deep knowledge of project accounting, project costing, procurement, inventory management, and contract revenue recognition.
• Understanding of bookkeeping and accounting structures, group consolidation, financial reporting, and management accounting across subsidiaries.
• Familiarity with supply chain, procurement, and trading processes is highly desirable.
• Technical capabilities include SAP ERP and SAP S/4HANA, finance systems architecture, ERP transformation, project accounting systems, automation, data governance, controls, integration, migration, and change management.
• Reporting tools include Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud, and Tableau.

Preferred certifications and leadership skills

• Preferred certifications include SAP S/4HANA, PMP, CISA, and SAP Finance (FI/CO).
• Leadership capabilities include strategic planning, technology roadmaps, large-scale program management, vendor and stakeholder management, cross-functional leadership, executive communication, team development, and coaching.
