Supports the Insurance Data Unit with financial, accounting, data management, and reporting activities for insurance and reinsurance operations and contracted insurance programs.

What you will do
- Analyze, reconcile, and interpret financial and insurance data from multiple sources.
- Prepare working papers, schedules, and financial or statutory reports for assigned programs.
- Process funding and loss payment requests and maintain cash controls, reconciliations, and intercompany settlements.
- Coordinate daily, monthly, and year-end information between operating locations and Omaha.
- Maintain financial database accuracy with IT and Finance; develop spreadsheet and database tools.
- Assist with supplemental reserve and IBNR calculations according to guidelines.
- Prepare reports for management, regulators, auditors, and internal partners, and respond to audit inquiries about data and controls.
- Stay current on insurance accounting and financial reporting practices.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- At least one year of work experience.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles.
- Computer proficiency and experience with basic applications such as Excel and Word.
Preferred knowledge
- Life or property-casualty insurance accounting experience, financial reporting knowledge, familiarity with company practices, statutory accounting knowledge, and Microsoft Access knowledge are preferred.
