Financial Document Analyst

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Review, organize, index, and process bank statements, tax returns, financial statements, mortgage statements, and supporting documents.
• Prepare and maintain complete case files and financial worksheets.
• Extract and compile income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and other financial information.
• Reconcile information, identify discrepancies or missing documents, and ensure data accuracy.
• Track document status and case progress in the case management system.
• Prepare supporting summaries and draft correspondence or documents for senior team members’ review.
• Maintain documentation and audit trails for case-related information.
• Follow up with clients for missing information and support bookkeeping or tax documentation as required.

Skills

• Good understanding of financial documents and basic accounting concepts.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational and documentation skills.
• Comfort with repetitive, document-intensive tasks and large document volumes.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel or Google Sheets and CRM/data entry.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information.

Education and experience

• 1–4 years of experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, financial services, tax operations, or a related field.
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, accounting, commerce, or a related field.
• Experience with financial document processing or preparing financial statements and worksheets is preferred.
• US tax or financial services experience is an advantage.
• Candidates pursuing or holding CA, CMA, CS, EA, B.Com, M.Com, or other relevant qualifications are encouraged to apply.
