The Role: Controller
- In this role, you will spend most of your time overseeing financial reporting, consolidations, job-cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements across multiple business entities.
- You will work closely with executive leadership, operations teams, project managers, and accounting staff to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and meaningful business insights.
- Key areas of responsibility include:
- Overseeing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Preparing consolidated financial statements, WIP schedules, job-cost reporting, and margin analysis
- Supporting acquisition due diligence, integration activities, and purchase accounting
- Leading and developing accounting team members through training, mentorship, and succession planning
- Strengthening internal controls across accounting, payroll, procurement, and project operations
- Driving ERP and process improvement initiatives to support scalability and growth
- Partnering with leadership on strategic planning, capital allocation, and business expansion initiatives
- Providing financial insights that support project selection, bidding strategies, profitability analysis, and resource planning
What You'll Bring
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience leading accounting teams and developing staff
- Strong financial reporting and consolidation experience
- Expertise in job-cost accounting, WIP reporting, and project-based accounting environments
- Experience supporting acquisitions, integration activities, or multi-entity organizations
- Strong understanding of internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- ERP system experience; exposure to construction ERP platforms such as Jonas is considered an asset
- Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
