Position Summary
Fragrance Du Bois is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Financial Controller to lead and oversee all accounting, financial reporting, compliance, treasury, and financial planning activities for its U.S. operations.
Reporting directly to senior leadership, the Financial Controller will play a critical role in supporting the company's growth strategy by ensuring financial accuracy, strengthening internal controls, improving operational efficiencies, and providing strategic financial insights that support business decision-making.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within the luxury, beauty, fragrance, cosmetics, or consumer goods sectors and possess a strong understanding of inventory-driven businesses, wholesale and retail distribution models, and multi-entity financial management.
Financial Reporting & Accounting
1.
Oversee all accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Inventory Accounting.
2.
Manage and approve all journal entries and account reconciliations.
3.
Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
4.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with U.S.
GAAP.
5.
Manage intercompany accounting and multi-entity consolidations.
Treasury & Cash Management
1.
Oversee daily cash management activities and banking relationships.
2.
Develop and maintain short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts.
3.
Monitor liquidity requirements and optimize working capital management.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
1.
Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
2.
Develop rolling financial forecasts and scenario analyses.
3.
Partner with department leaders to evaluate spending, profitability, and investment opportunities.
4.
Provide executive management with meaningful financial insights and recommendations.
Inventory & Supply Chain Finance
1.
Monitor inventory valuation, reserves, obsolescence, and inventory controls.
2.
Partner closely with operations, logistics, and supply chain teams.
3.
Analyze inventory turns, sell-through rates, margins, and product profitability.
4.
Oversee inventory reconciliation across warehouses, distributors, and third-party logistics providers.
Internal Controls & Governance
1.
Design, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
2.
Ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
3.
Continuously improve accounting processes and financial procedures.
Audit Management
1.
Serve as primary liaison with external auditors and tax advisors.
2.
Coordinate annual audits and financial reviews.
3.
Ensure timely completion of audit requests and recommendations.
Tax & Regulatory Compliance
1.
Oversee federal, state, and local tax compliance.
2.
Coordinate corporate income tax filings and sales tax reporting.
3.
Monitor regulatory changes affecting company operations.
Team Leadership
1.
Recruit, manage, mentor, and develop accounting and finance personnel.
2.
Establish performance goals and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Executive Business Partner
1.
Partner with the CFO, CEO, ownership group, and department leaders on strategic initiatives.
2.
Provide financial analysis supporting expansion plans, retail partnerships, inventory investments, and operational improvements.
3.
Present financial results and recommendations to executive leadership.
Systems & Business Intelligence
1.
Leverage ERP systems and business intelligence tools to improve reporting capabilities.
2.
Develop KPI dashboards and performance metrics.
3.
Drive automation initiatives to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Education
1.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
2.
Master's degree preferred.
Experience
1.
Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
2.
Minimum 3 years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Finance Management role.
3.
Experience
within beauty, fragrance, cosmetics, luxury goods, consumer products, or retail industries strongly preferred.
Certification
1.
Active CPA license required.
Technical Expertise
1.
Advanced knowledge of U.S.
GAAP.
2.
Experience
with multi-entity accounting and intercompany transactions.
3.
Strong inventory accounting and cost accounting experience.
4.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
5.
Experience
with ERP platforms such as NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, or similar systems.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience
supporting international operations and multi-currency environments.
2.
Experience
managing third-party logistics (3PL) financial reporting and inventory controls.
3.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
4.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
5.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
6.
Experience
supporting luxury fragrance, beauty, cosmetics, skincare, or prestige retail brands.
