About This Role

Position Summary:

As a Financial Controller for Qatar, you will play a meaningful role in supporting Emerson’s finance operations across the North Region. This role partners closely with regional finance leadership and country stakeholders to ensure strong financial governance, insightful analysis, and compliance with statutory and internal requirements. You will have exposure to a broad range of financial activities while contributing to both day ‑ to ‑ day operations and longer ‑ term strategic decision ‑ making.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Partner with the Regional Controller to support daily financial operations and longer ‑ term strategic initiatives.
  • Lead financial controlling and analysis activities for the Qatar business, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations, validate account balances, resolve aged items, and escalate issues when needed.
  • Own Tawteen submissions and audits in Qatar, ensuring timely and compliant completion.
  • Review and approve tax submissions, calculations, and statutory reporting on a periodic basis.
  • Maintain financial ownership of site legal entities, ensuring consistent accounting policies and strong internal controls.
  • Prepare and maintain financial data supporting reporting on orders, sales, headcount, leases, working capital, and related metrics.
  • Contribute to quarterly forecasting, financial planning, and the annual budgeting process in line with the Emerson planning calendar.
  • Act as a key contact for accounting, reporting, statutory audits, and internal audits.
  • Support capital expenditure activities in close collaboration with business units.
  • Manage banking relationships, authorized signatories, online transaction approvals, and cash flow reporting.
  • Collaborate with regional finance teams, Centers of Excellence, HR, local business partners, and external agencies to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Promote company policies, internal controls, and continuous improvement, including SOX compliance.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety & Environment policies as laid by the organization.

You use financial insight to evaluate options, identify opportunities, and support informed decision ‑ making.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, commerce, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working with financial reporting under US GAAP and/or IFRS.
  • Demonstrated experience in a finance role with responsibility for financial control, reporting, and compliance within a complex organization.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with regional and global stakeholders across functions and cultures.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Professional accounting qualification (such as CA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Experience working with ERP and financial management systems such as Oracle and Hyperion.
  • Exposure to free zone entities and multi ‑ entity environments.
