Financial Business Analyst

Job purpose

Reporting and planning

• Prepare monthly P&L reports for assigned companies, channels, and business units; reconcile reports to the general ledger and investigate material differences.
• Maintain reporting mappings, allocation logic, chart-of-accounts structures, and standardized templates; prepare performance summaries for Finance leadership, ExCom, and Board packs.
• Support annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and scenario models; review assumptions for sales, margins, expenses, working capital, and cash flow.
• Track actual results against budget, forecast, and prior year, update outlooks, and build sensitivity and what-if analyses.

Performance and cash analysis

• Analyze revenue, gross profit, EBITDA, net profit, margins, expenses, and operational drivers; assess profitability across companies, channels, customers, categories, products, stores, and projects.
• Find variance root causes and translate findings into management actions; evaluate promotions, pricing, inventory movements, and commercial initiatives.
• Analyze inventory, receivables, payables, cash conversion, and other balance-sheet exposures; support weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts.
• Coordinate with Treasury, Supply Chain, Commercial, and Accounting to improve forecast accuracy and follow-up.

Data, automation, and controls

• Validate and reconcile data across ERP, sales, inventory, courier, and operating systems; coordinate with Accounting and cross-functional teams.
• Follow up on missing inputs, unresolved variances, and action items through closure.
• Automate recurring analysis with advanced Excel, Power Query, Power BI, and approved tools; improve repeatability, controls, and ease of refresh.
• Support Dynamics 365 data integration and use AI-enabled tools responsibly for analysis, documentation, commentary, and presentations.
• Maintain model checks and audit trails; identify reporting gaps, inefficient processes, and control weaknesses; support ad hoc analysis and strategic projects.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required.
• 4–7 years of experience in FP&A, management reporting, business analysis, or commercial finance; multi-company experience is preferred.
• CMA, ACCA, CPA, CFA, FMVA, or similar professional qualification is advantageous.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of P&L, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, working capital, and financial statements; ability to prepare management reports independently and explain performance to senior stakeholders.
• Advanced Excel is required, including financial modeling, Power Query, pivot tables, and data reconciliation.
• Hands-on ERP experience is required; Dynamics 365 experience is strongly preferred. Power BI and practical dashboard development are preferred.
• Strong analytical judgment, curiosity, ownership, constructive challenge, clear communication, presentation skills, deadline management, and follow-through are sought.
