Position Summary
The Financial Analyst joins Metergy’s finance team in North York, Ontario.
The versatile role supports accounting functions including financial reporting, transactions, reconciliations, documentation, and process improvement.
The position interacts with finance, operations, and internal and external audit teams.
Responsibilities
- Support month-end close and prepare monthly journal entries under tight deadlines.
- Analyze large data sets and assigned financial accounts; prepare monthly account reconciliations.
- Identify and implement improvements to month-end close and reconciliation processes.
- Report key operating metrics and drivers, connecting operating and financial trends and variances.
- Assist with financial controls, management analyses and reports, forecasting, and business planning.
- Prepare cash forecasts and liaise with banks to assist liquidity management.
- Prepare ad hoc analyses and presentations and support special projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Professional accounting designation or working toward a designation such as CPA.
- At least two years of accounting-function experience and a track record of high performance.
- Advanced Excel skills, including advanced functions, and proficiency in PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, written and verbal communication, and teamwork.
- Self-motivated and proactive in managing workload and professional development.
Office Location
- The description identifies Metergy’s office as currently in Markham, with a planned move to North York toward the end of 2026.
