We are hiring for a Financial Analyst – Python, Data & AI role.
The role is for someone with a genuine finance background who has also built hands-on technical skills in Python, SQL, and LLM-based application development.
You will work across investment analysis, portfolio monitoring, and data workflows — and be expected to build AI-powered tools that support the team's analytical work.
Core Skills & Experience
— Finance: 3+ years in PE, investment banking, advisory, or financial services.
Familiarity with financial modelling, valuation, and investment reporting
— Python & SQL: Used regularly in a professional setting — pipelines, data processing, transformations, and automation
— LLM Development: Hands-on experience using LLM API wrappers (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar) to build lightweight applications.
Not just using AI tools — actually building with them
— Prompt Engineering: Ability to design effective prompts and integrate language models into analytical workflows
— CFA: Charterholder or in progress is a strong plus
Typical Responsibilities
— Support investment analysis, deal screening, and portfolio company performance tracking
— Build and maintain Python-based data and automation workflows
— Develop LLM-powered tools to support research, reporting, and decision-making
— Write and optimise SQL queries for financial data extraction and transformation
— Work closely with investment and analytics teams on data-driven deliverables
Good Indicators of a Strong Candidate
— Has worked in a finance environment and understands how investment teams operate
— Can independently write Python scripts and SQL queries without hand-holding
— Has shipped something using an LLM API — even a small internal tool
— Comfortable sitting between the finance team and the technical team
— Demonstrates ownership and problem-solving rather than waiting for instructions
What We Are NOT Looking For
- — Pure finance professionals with no coding experience
- — Data scientists or ML engineers with no finance background
- — Candidates who have only used AI tools as an end user, not as a builder
- — Candidates without strong SQL fundamentals
