Role overview

The Financial Analyst supports financial controllership in Martin Marietta’s Kansas City Region.

The role analyzes, develops, and provides automated solutions that affect financial controllership.

Responsibilities

  • Work with division leadership daily on financial analysis and accounting activities.
  • Analyze data, identify trends and findings, and provide recommendations.
  • Monitor financial activity and transactions for compliance and report anomalies.
  • Train budget holders on forecasting techniques and forecasting and reporting systems.
  • Explain profit and loss, operational KPIs, and working capital to budget holders.
  • Identify process or knowledge gaps and work to close them.
  • Perform variance analysis to identify errors and opportunities and data analysis to support business decisions.
  • Complete other work assigned by the Finance Manager or Supervisor and Regional Vice President.

Skills

  • Business analysis, business acumen, data analysis, compliance, GAAP accounting principles, attention to detail, problem solving, oral and written communication, and critical thinking.

Required education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of related experience.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.
