Job Description

Partner with operations to provide timely financial updates, forecasts, and strategic-planning support.

Analyze performance metrics and trends to provide accurate, actionable financial information aligned with business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, maintain, and update long-term financial forecasts using established financial models.
  • Support development of the annual budget and organizational strategic-planning activities.
  • Perform period-end reporting, reconciliations, and analysis to support timely, accurate financial close.
  • Identify process-improvement opportunities related to reporting and forecasting.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to leadership.
  • Assist in drafting, updating, and maintaining contracts, policies, procedures, and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary business degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA or near completion, or 5–7+ years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in accounting or financial analysis.
  • Experience with financial shared services, including AP, AR, and Treasury.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Financial audits, Cognos TM1, government contracts, or payroll experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, prioritization, collaboration, attention-to-detail, and data-interpretation skills.

Workplace and Eligibility

  • This is a full-time, in-office position.
  • Successful applicants must meet Canadian Controlled Goods Program, Canadian Government Security Clearance, and U.S. ITAR requirements.

About the Team

Irving Shipbuilding is Canada's National Shipbuilder, constructing patrol ships and destroyers for the Royal Canadian Navy and Canadian Coast Guard.
