Role overview
Full-time, permanent, hybrid Accounting Technician role.
The technician reports to the Assistant Director of Finance and participates in company accounting activities, including accounts payable and receivable, closings, statements, reconciliations, and financial analyses.
Responsibilities
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable clerks; participate in invoice entry and the accounts payable cycle.
- Participate in billing and the accounts receivable cycle.
- Assist with monthly and annual financial statements.
- Reconcile and analyze accounts, and explain identified variances.
- Generate management reports and key performance indicators.
- Assist with GST/QST government filings.
- Participate in projects to improve systems, financial tools, and accounting processes.
Skills and qualifications
- DEC in Accounting, AEC, university certificate in accounting, or equivalent education and relevant experience.
- Three to five years of accounting experience, including reconciliations, account analysis, and financial reporting.
- Bilingual French and English, both spoken and written.
- Strong knowledge of the accounting cycle and principles, Windows, and Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Business Central, Dynamics NAV, or another ERP system is an asset.
- Strong autonomy, organization, prioritization, accuracy, interpersonal skills, professionalism, and analytical problem-solving.
