Role Description
This part-time Finance Manager role at the Facultad de Ciencias Económicas – Universidad Nacional de Colombia is a hybrid position based in Abu Dhabi, with the flexibility to work from home on agreed days.
The Finance Manager will oversee day-to-day financial operations, including managing accounts payable and receivable, monitoring cash flow, and coordinating bank transactions.
The role includes preparing budgets and forecasts, tracking variances, and providing periodic financial reports and analysis to leadership to support data-driven decision-making.
The Finance Manager will ensure compliance with internal policies, relevant regulations, and institutional guidelines, coordinating audits and maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.
The role also involves contributing to process improvements, implementing financial controls, and collaborating with academic and administrative units on financial planning and resource allocation.
Qualifications
- Strong financial management and accounting skills, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cash flow management.
- Proficiency with financial software and spreadsheets (e.g., Excel, ERP or accounting systems), and the ability to work with data and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of internal controls, audit practices, and compliance with financial policies, regulations, and institutional guidelines.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in financial records.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with academic, administrative, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a part-time, hybrid environment and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; a relevant master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is an asset.
- Prior experience in higher education, public sector, or non-profit financial management is preferred; familiarity with international or multi-campus environments is beneficial.
- Professional fluency in English; additional language skills (e.g., Spanish or Arabic) are an advantage.
