Build client-facing financial tools for a fractional CFO firm, including dashboards, forecasting models, AI assistants, and automations.

What you will do
- Build and own interactive financial models delivered as web apps, including scenario sliders, drill-down tables, and auditable Excel exports.
- Build small, versioned automations for recurring tasks, such as converting billing spreadsheets into reconciled QuickBooks invoices with approval gates.
- Write database queries for reporting and connect them to live client accounting data.
- Investigate discrepancies between figures, document answers, and distinguish real variances from non-comparable data.
- Help accountants and operators build tools independently.
- Meet virtually with client stakeholders to define needs and build solutions directly.
- Partner with the VP of Engineering on secure data warehouses, APIs, and the hosted web app platform.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree focused in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of combined experience across accounting or finance and software or systems development.
- Deep experience in at least one accounting system, such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or Dynamics.
- Able to write and maintain code and database queries and build AI tools.
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.
- Dedicated workspace and reliable, secure, high-speed internet access.
- Based in the United States.
- Clear written and verbal communication and an unwavering commitment to confidentiality.
Finance and engineering background
- Finance expertise includes accounting, financial statements, month-end close, receivables and payables, reconciliation, and general ledger concepts.
- Software expertise includes writing and maintaining code and database queries and working with systems that may have incomplete documentation.
- CPA or CMA is preferred, not required; demonstrated judgment matters.
- SQL proficiency is preferred, not required.
Work arrangement
- Work from home in a fully remote role with a structured schedule.
Role scope
This is a hands-on builder role, not a reporting-only role or a coordinator role between finance and engineering.
