Finance Data Analyst

About This Role

We are seeking a dynamic Data Analyst with a strong finance background and a passion for driving data-enabled strategic decision-making. This is a high-impact role sitting at the intersection of Finance, Data, and technology, acting as a critical translator to ensure that enterprise-wide data initiatives are aligned with business needs—particularly those of the Finance function.

This role is integral to the development and governance of our enterprise data platform, especially as we drive forward strategic programs like activity-based costing, AI-driven forecasting, and machine learning initiatives. The ideal candidate will have the vision to see the bigger data picture while being hands-on with tools like SQL, Power BI, Power Automate and Python.

Accountabilities

1. Strategy Enablement & Data Translation

• Act as the primary bridge between Finance and IT, ensuring that finance and business requirements area accurately captured and embedded early into platform and solution design.

• Lead strategic, finance-centric data initiatives such as activity-based costing and margin analytics

• Identify and prioritize high-impact data use cases that drive financial insight and strategic value.

2. Data Governance & Quality

• Post-rollout, lead efforts around data governance, quality control, and data cataloguing.

• Ensure consistent understanding, clarity and adoption of key financial metrics like EBITDA, aligned with Company standards, and emphasize their importance over EBIT or Net Income in decision-making.

• Advocate for strong data discipline across the organization. Promote data literacy across the Finance function and ensure business users understand and trust the data.

3. Analytical Development & Delivery of Use cases

• Sponsor or co-own Finance-led data use cases, including AI, forecasting models, and machine learning applications.

• Leverage SQL, Python, and Power Apps for advanced querying, reporting, and visual storytelling.

• Collaborate closely with internal and external developers, data engineers, scientists, and business units to drive actionable insights.

Education & Experience

• Bachelors' or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.

• Proficiency in Python, SQL and Power Apps.

• 3-6 years of experience in data-centric roles, ideally within Finance, FP&A, or Data Strategy.

• Ideally, experience in financial or operational analytics, with a solid understanding of business impact and performance metrics.

• Experience with SAP S4 HANA and other ERP systems and expertise in Excel for data analysis, modeling, and reporting.

• Highly proficient in data extraction from various sources and systems, with the ability to manage, retrieve and reconcile multiple data points on a regular basis.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills; able to challenge constructively and bridge the gap between business and technical teams.
