Role overview

The Finance Associate – MENA bridges Billing and Collections and owns regional client invoicing, local compliance, and collectability.

The role reports to the Global Head of Billing, with a dotted-line report to the EMEA Collections Manager.

The team description identifies this as a hybrid role that includes collection functions.

Invoice compliance and review

  • Review invoices against MENA country rules, including KSA ZATCA Phase 2, UAE FTA, Egypt ETA, and Qatar QR standards.
  • Validate invoice format, currency, language, tax identifiers, QR codes, purchase orders, and contracts; flag noncompliant invoices for correction.

Collections and disputes

  • Contact customers with outstanding invoices, monitor accounts receivable aging, escalate delinquent accounts, and maintain collection records.
  • Update client account statuses, collect withholding-tax certificates where applicable, report portfolio health, and assist with payment-blocking disputes.

Sales and client finance coordination

  • Coordinate billing holds, disputes, and collection escalations with MSCI Sales and support new-client billing setup.
  • Liaise with client Finance and Accounts Payable teams to confirm invoice receipt, resolve discrepancies, and maintain current billing requirements and contacts.
  • Obtain global deal billing allocations and build relationships with client finance counterparts to reduce invoice rejections and accelerate collections.

Regional compliance and reporting

  • Coordinate Billing and Collections updates, credit memos, adjustments, rebillings, and periodic accounts receivable reviews.
  • Monitor MENA e-invoicing, VAT, digital tax, withholding, and exemption rules and maintain audit trails.
  • Maintain billing and collections trackers, aging summaries, dispute logs, and compliance reports; support month-end close and reconciliation.

Process improvement

  • Identify inefficiencies in the billing-to-collections workflow and propose improvements.
  • Support billing tool and e-invoicing platform rollouts and maintain a country-specific MENA billing reference guide.

Skills and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
  • At least five years of accounts receivable, billing, or collections experience.
  • Experience across MENA markets and strong knowledge of KSA and UAE billing and collections requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with ZATCA and UAE VAT invoicing requirements.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic; proficiency in SAP.
  • The source description ends mid-qualification after “familiarity with Sal”, so the remaining text is unavailable.
