Role overview
Financial Analyst role with a food production company based in Mississauga, Ontario.

Core responsibilities
- Perform business analysis and reporting for assigned projects.
- Estimate costs, compare budgets with actual expenses, and monitor costs following product or process changes.
- Determine standard costs and investigate actual-versus-budgeted cost variances.
- Create and manage budgets, monitor spending, and forecast and analyze process, labor, and inventory costs.
- Recommend cost-reducing or profit-improving solutions and prepare detailed periodic and ad hoc reports.
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a similar field; proven financial analyst, cost specialist, or similar experience, with at least 3 years in a related role.
- Strong business management and data analysis knowledge; practical general accounting knowledge and ability to complete simple accounting tasks.
- Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, reporting, and presentation skills.
- Strong Microsoft skills, particularly Excel; working knowledge of QuickBooks, pivot tables, dashboards, VLOOKUP, and advanced Excel.
- Comfort learning ERP systems and making business recommendations based on data analysis.
Pay and benefits
- Pay is $70,000–$75,000 per year.
- Benefits include dental care, extended health care, on-site parking, paid time off, and vision care.
