Role purpose

Key responsibilities

• Maintain project forecasts, budgets, and Estimates at Completion with accurate data and clear assumptions.
• Analyse project costs, cash flow, variances, trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Support monthly reporting, data validation, journals, accruals, settlements, and reconciliations.
• Assist with invoice preparation, cost analysis, change control, and financial information requests.
• Provide insight on profitability, performance, and operational metrics; maintain financial controls and governance.

What the role requires

• Experience supporting project financial reporting, forecasting, or cost control.
• Awareness of project accounting principles and willingness to develop knowledge of revenue recognition and long-term contract reporting.
• Part-qualified accountant, finance-related degree, AAT/CIMA/ACCA study pathway, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Strong MS Excel skills and experience analysing and reconciling financial data.
• SAP, planning-tool, or project-reporting experience is advantageous.

Location and working arrangements

• The role can be based in Derby, with flexibility to work from home and the office depending on business needs.
• Ad hoc travel may be required.

Compensation and benefits
