With 60 years of experience across industries and a vast network of over 100 sites worldwide, Jabil combines global reach with local expertise to deliver both scalable and customized solutions. Our commitment extends beyond business success as we strive to build sustainable processes that minimize environmental impact and foster vibrant and diverse communities around the globe.

How will you make an impact?

We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on, and customer-focused Fiber Optics Integration Engineer within the Intelligent Infrastructure Segment to lead fiber optic architecture, integration, troubleshooting, qualification, and deployment activities for next-generation AI, HPC, cloud, and networking rack solutions.

This role is critical in ensuring successful end-to-end optical connectivity across integrated rack platforms through development of fiber cabling standards, installation procedures, routing strategies, optical validation plans, and root cause analysis methodologies. The engineer will serve as a key technical resource supporting customers, manufacturing sites, compliance teams, and engineering organizations throughout the product lifecycle.

The successful candidate will bridge optical networking technologies with rack-level integration and deployment requirements, enabling reliable, scalable, and serviceable solutions for hyperscale data center customers worldwide.

What will you do?

  • Own optical connectivity integration across rack-level solutions, including transceivers, DACs, AOCs, fiber trunks, breakout assemblies, patch panels, and switch-to-server interconnects.
  • Develop and maintain fiber routing, bundling, strain relief, labeling, installation, and serviceability standards for air-cooled and liquid-cooled rack solutions.
  • Lead root cause investigations for optical communication failures observed during prototype validation, factory test, shipment, deployment, and customer operation.
  • Support customer escalations involving optical performance, network bring-up issues, transceiver compatibility, link instability, signal degradation, or deployment-related failures.
  • Establish troubleshooting methodologies and failure-analysis procedures utilizing optical power meters, OTDRs, BER testing, insertion-loss measurements, switch diagnostics, and transceiver telemetry.
  • Create rack-level fiber optic installation guides, work instructions, service manuals, qualification plans, and best practices documentation.
  • Collaborate with networking, electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering teams to optimize fiber routing paths and ensure manufacturability and field serviceability.
  • Support qualification and validation testing of integrated rack solutions, including transportation, shock, vibration, and environmental testing where optical performance must be maintained.
  • Partner with compliance and certification teams to support UL, CE, NFPA, and other regulatory requirements impacting fiber optic and networking infrastructure within rack systems.
  • Participate in customer meetings, technical reviews, onsite deployments, and data center visits to support solution implementation and issue resolution.
  • Work directly with transceiver suppliers, switch vendors, cable manufacturers, and networking technology partners to resolve product and interoperability issues.
  • Support factory test development and manufacturing procedures to ensure consistent optical installation quality and repeatable system performance.
  • Train manufacturing personnel, field service teams, and customers on approved fiber handling and installation practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on optical network reliability, deployment efficiency, and reduction of field failures.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

How will you get here?
