Family Medicine Consultant

Davidson Management Consultants have been mandated to recruit a western educated, native Arabic speaking Consultant Family Medicine / Primary Care Physician for their client in UAE which is a specialized rehabilitation hospital and residential treatment facility providing comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, and residential care services. We are looking for Tier 1 or Tier 2 qualified physicians holding recognized qualifications such as ABMS Board Certification (USA), RCPSC (Canada), CCT/CCST (UK), FRACGP (Australia), Arab Board, or equivalent qualifications recognized by UAE healthcare regulatory authorities. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of post-specialty experience and inpatient hospital experience is mandatory. Previous exposure to addiction medicine, substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health facilities, or drug rehabilitation hospitals would be a significant advantage.

The Consultant Family Medicine / Primary Care Physician will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients admitted to inpatient rehabilitation and residential treatment programs.

Conduct detailed medical evaluations, review medical histories, manage acute and chronic medical conditions, and ensure continuity of care throughout the patient's rehabilitation journey.

Monitor and manage common medical conditions including diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, respiratory illnesses, infectious diseases, chronic pain conditions, and other comorbidities frequently encountered within rehabilitation settings.

Provide medical support for patients undergoing treatment for substance use disorders and behavioral health conditions, identifying and managing medical complications associated with addiction where appropriate.

Collaborate closely with addiction medicine physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, therapists, social workers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated treatment plans and ensure coordinated patient care.

Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences, clinical reviews, treatment planning meetings, and discharge planning discussions.

Monitor patients' clinical progress throughout inpatient and residential admissions, ensuring timely intervention when medical issues arise and facilitating escalation of care when required.

Contribute to development and implementation of evidence-based clinical pathways, chronic disease management programs, preventive healthcare initiatives, and rehabilitation-focused care protocols.

Provide patient and family education regarding disease management, preventive care, lifestyle modification, recovery planning, and long-term health maintenance.

Maintain accurate clinical documentation, progress notes, discharge summaries, and treatment records in compliance with UAE healthcare regulations and organizational policies.

Participate in clinical governance activities, quality improvement initiatives, accreditation programs, medical audits, and continuing professional development activities.

Ensure compliance with ethical practice standards, patient safety requirements, and regulatory frameworks while contributing to the organization's commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered healthcare services.
