Factory Operative

Job Purpose

Factory Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, store and move incoming materials, reporting shortages, damage and discrepancies.
• Pick, check, label, pack and stage customer and production orders for dispatch.
• Prepare outgoing goods, secure loads and complete supporting documentation.
• Operate band saws, overhead cranes and approved materials-handling equipment within training and safe operating limits.
• Operate forklift trucks only when trained, assessed as competent and formally authorised.
• Manufacture and assemble ground anchors according to drawings and work instructions.
• Complete quality checks, stock-control activities, waste handling and required operational records.

Health, Safety, Quality and Environment

• Follow health, safety, quality and environmental policies, risk assessments, work instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Use required personal protective equipment and appropriate manual-handling techniques.
• Complete pre-use equipment checks and immediately isolate or report defective equipment where required.
• Report unsafe conditions, near misses, incidents, environmental concerns, damaged products and quality issues.
• Maintain clean, tidy and orderly work areas, storage locations, access routes and equipment.

Training and Competence

• DYWIDAG will provide role-specific training for assigned activities, including goods handling, machinery, cranes, lifting accessories, ground-anchor manufacture and quality checks.
• Work under suitable supervision until competency has been demonstrated and formally recorded.
• Maintain competence, attend refresher training and request further instruction or support when needed.
