Facility IT Infrastructure Unit Head

Overview

Operational Technology & Building Systems

• Oversee Building Management Systems (BMS) for HVAC, environmental parameters, and plant performance.
• Maintain continuous monitoring of temperature, humidity, pressure, and environmental conditions across galleries, laboratories, and collections.
• Ensure accuracy and calibration of environmental monitoring systems.
• Develop and implement redundancy and resilience strategies for critical building systems.

Security & Technical Infrastructure

• Supervise technical infrastructure for CCTV and access control systems.
• Ensure operational reliability of facility monitoring and control systems.
• Coordinate testing and validation of life-safety integrated technical systems.

Structured Cabling & Infrastructure Backbone

• Oversee structured cabling, fiber backbone, racks, and technical rooms for operational systems.
• Maintain and document physical infrastructure to align with asset records.
• Ensure operational network integrity for building systems, avoiding overlap with institutional digital services.

BIM & Digital Asset Management

• Lead and supervise the BIM Specialist to ensure accurate, up-to-date digital asset models.
• Maintain BIM models that reflect as-built conditions and support lifecycle asset management.
• Integrate BIM data with maintenance planning, asset registers, and infrastructure documentation.
• Leverage digital models for preventive maintenance, capital planning, and facility optimization.

Systems Integration & Commissioning

• Coordinate integration among mechanical systems, digital control platforms, and monitoring systems.
• Support commissioning, testing, and handover of operational systems during capital projects.
• Review contractor technical submissions for facility-linked infrastructure.
• Ensure effective system validation prior to operational acceptance.

Vendor & Contractor Management

• Supervise contractors for BMS, environmental systems, CCTV, structured cabling, and BIM-related services.
• Monitor compliance and performance standards for preventive maintenance.
• Escalate infrastructure-related risks to the FM Section Head as needed.

Asset Lifecycle & Capital Planning

• Maintain an asset register for operational technology and infrastructure systems.
• Develop strategies for lifecycle replacement of facility-linked systems.
• Provide technical contributions to capital expenditure planning for infrastructure and digital assets.
• Support long-term resilience and modernization plans.

Risk Management & Compliance

• Identify and mitigate infrastructure-related risks impacting operational continuity.
• Ensure adherence to safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements for facility systems.
• Support audit readiness for ISO and statutory inspections.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain current system architecture and as-built documentation.
• Ensure alignment between BIM models, physical assets, and maintenance records.
• Prepare structured performance and risk reports for the FM Section Head.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Information Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Preferred certifications: BMS, building automation, or BIM platforms.

Experience

• 8–12 years in building automation, operational technology, or facility infrastructure environments.
• Proven track record managing BMS, environmental systems, CCTV infrastructure, structured cabling, and BIM systems within complex facilities.
• Experience leading technical engineers and digital asset management personnel.
• Experience in mission-critical environments such as museums, airports, hospitals, research facilities, or large public institutions is preferred.
