Work with the Corporate Services team and Property Administrator on maintenance and health and safety across sites.

Oversee the physical care, safety, and operational efficiency of River Garden and other properties, combining hands-on maintenance with practical skills training for residents.

Maintenance and property care

  • Complete minor joinery, electrical, and plumbing work; redecorate and paint void properties and office spaces.
  • Use site vehicles and on-site machinery; respond occasionally to out-of-hours emergencies.

Safety and compliance

  • Maintain site-wide health and safety standards and document mandatory checks, including weekly fire alarm tests, emergency lighting checks, and water temperature logs.
  • Manage site access, work permits, specialist sign-offs, equipment procedures, and storage guidelines.

Planning and resident support

  • Manage equipment, plant, and servicing schedules and obtain competitive quotes for cost efficiency.
  • Create a structured environment where residents gain transferable life and work skills through daily tasks and improvement projects.
  • Promote the organisation's values, mission, and vision.

Candidate requirements

  • Proven experience in general maintenance, decorating, basic carpentry, and facility upkeep.
  • Strong coaching, patient communication, and mentorship skills for working with residents.
  • Familiarity with routine health and safety testing, including fire safety and emergency lighting, and workshop risk management.
