Role overview
Oversee safe, efficient and compliant operation of the practice premises and facilities.
Provide operational support for vaccination programmes; this is a non-clinical role with no clinical vaccination duties.
Facilities and operations
- Manage day-to-day premises, estates and facilities operations at the main and branch surgeries.
- Coordinate planned maintenance, repairs, statutory checks and contractors.
- Maintain health and safety risk assessments, records and action plans; support fire safety, emergency planning and business continuity.
- Oversee cleaning, infection-control-related facilities and waste services.
- Manage stock levels, ordering, expiry dates and secure storage.
- Support vaccination clinic facilities, equipment, supplies and cold-chain monitoring; escalate concerns promptly.
- Maintain compliance, maintenance, incident and stock records; identify risks, implement improvements and report progress.
- Line-manage the Practice Support Assistant.
About you
- Experience in facilities, estates, health and safety or operational management; healthcare or NHS experience is desirable.
- Able to manage competing priorities and coordinate contractors and suppliers.
- Knowledge of stock control, infection prevention and control, cold-chain monitoring and/or vaccination-clinic support is advantageous.
About the practice
Ryeland Surgery is a GP practice operating across two sites serving more than 19,000 registered patients.
The post is based at the main surgery in Leominster and the branch surgery in Bodenham.
The practice is an active Primary Care Network and GP federation member and hosts a research nurse.
Salary
- Salary is circa £35,000 per year.
Work location
- Work location is in person.
