Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Facade Designer and Technical Engineer based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The role involves designing facade systems in aluminium and glass, preparing detailed drawings, and developing technical solutions that meet project specifications, local regulations, and safety standards.
Day-to-day tasks include coordinating with architects, structural engineers, and project managers; reviewing design requirements; selecting materials; and ensuring constructability and cost-effectiveness of facade designs.
The Facade Designer and Technical Engineer will prepare shop drawings, technical documentation, and installation details, while providing guidance to fabrication and site teams during production and installation.
The role also includes conducting technical reviews, resolving design-related issues on-site, and supporting quality control and compliance with company and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in facade design and engineering, including experience with aluminium and glass systems and building envelope solutions.
- Proficiency in technical drawing and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit or similar CAD/BIM tools) for preparing shop drawings and installation details.
- Solid understanding of structural principles, construction methods, and relevant building codes and standards in the United Arab Emirates.
- Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, interpret architectural and structural drawings, and translate them into practical facade solutions.
- Effective project coordination skills, including time management, documentation, and attention to detail throughout design, fabrication, and installation phases.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address technical challenges and site-related issues in a timely and practical manner.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; relevant facade or curtain wall experience is highly preferred.
- Previous experience working with aluminium and glass fabrication or installation companies, particularly within the GCC region, is an asset.
