The Monolith Design is a growing startup specializing in architectural scale models, 3D printing, and custom fabrication.
The role combines hands-on model fabrication with leadership, training, and development of workshop capabilities and production standards.
The position is based in Dubai, UAE.
Responsibilities
- Lead model projects from drawing review and file preparation through fabrication, finishing, and delivery.
- Prepare AutoCAD and Rhino files for scaled production, 3D printing, laser cutting, and CNC machining.
- Fabricate buildings, façades, landscaping, model bases, and detailed components with the team.
- Schedule production, assign tasks, monitor deadlines, and coordinate priorities and resources with management.
- Train junior staff; set quality standards; identify fabrication challenges and develop practical solutions.
- Estimate materials and labour, reduce waste, improve efficiency, and maintain an organised, safe workshop.
Requirements
- Proven architectural model-making experience with strong hands-on fabrication and finishing skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Rhino for editing and preparing production files.
- Experience leading a workshop or production team and training junior staff.
- Ability to read architectural drawings and understand scales, dimensions, and construction details.
- Familiarity with acrylic, MDF, styrene, foam, resin, and 3D-printed components.
- Knowledge of 3D printing, laser cutting, and CNC production workflows.
- Strong planning, communication, and problem-solving skills; able to take ownership and adapt to changing priorities.
- Portfolio of completed physical models that clearly shows the candidate’s production role.
