F&B Cost Controller

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Develop cost-control systems and procedures to monitor expenses and identify improvements.
• Analyze financial data, prepare cost reports, and provide management insights.
• Conduct inventory counts and reconciliations; maintain accurate stock levels.
• Monitor budget variances, recommend corrective actions, and work with department heads on departmental budgets.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and local regulations.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; maintain financial records and documentation.
• Support cost-saving initiatives, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects or investments.
• Train and guide staff on cost-control procedures and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a relevant diploma may be considered with extensive experience.
• At least one year of experience in F&B cost control, financial management, or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with financial management software and inventory systems, such as Opera.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
• Organizational and time-management abilities, effective communication, and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
