Role Overview
The Early Years & Primary PYP Spanish Acquisition Teacher plays a key role in nurturing multilingualism, international-mindedness, and a love of learning.
They will work collaboratively with teachers, students, and families to support language acquisition and contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture.
Teaching & Learning
- Deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate Spanish Acquisition lessons aligned with the PYP.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- -Use technology and digital platforms (e.g., Toddle, Microsoft Teams) to enhance learning and communication.
Curriculum & Assessment
- Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of the PYP Spanish Acquisition curriculum.
- Support the implementation of Understanding by Design and Assessment for Learning practices.
- Assist the school in meeting programme requirements for NEASC and the IB.
Collaboration & Professional Growth
- Participate in professional development, team meetings, and staff training.
- Foster strong collaborative relationships across grade levels and departments.
- Contribute to a positive team spirit and environment of mutual respect.
Community & Contribution
- Engage with families to support student learning and wellbeing.
- Contribute to community service, global citizenship initiatives, and whole school events.
- Participate in the school s extracurricular activities programme.
- Represent and uphold the professional standards of the teaching body.
