Role Description
The Experienced Technician role at Trot Solutions is a full-time, on-site position based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The technician will perform installation, commissioning, inspection, diagnostics, and repair of port and marine equipment and systems, following technical documentation and safety procedures.
Daily tasks include troubleshooting mechanical and/or electrical issues, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and completing service reports and documentation.
The role involves collaborating with engineers and project managers, supporting on-site project execution, and providing technical feedback to improve service quality.
The technician will also interact with clients’ on-site teams in a professional manner, adhere to all health, safety, and environmental standards, and participate in ongoing technical training as required.
Qualifications
- Strong technical competence in mechanical and/or electrical systems, with hands-on experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial, marine, or port equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics, and to use diagnostic tools, measuring instruments, and standard workshop equipment safely and accurately.
- Experience working in field service or on-site technical roles, including commissioning, inspections, and preventive maintenance activities in demanding operational environments.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, project managers, and client representatives, and to provide clear written service reports.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with company and regulatory standards, including adherence to health, safety, and environmental best practices.
- Relevant technical diploma or vocational qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Marine Engineering, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing project needs and schedules.
- Previous experience in the port, marine, or heavy industrial sector is preferred; familiarity with international standards and practices in these environments is an advantage.
- Willingness to work on-site in varying conditions and, when required, to work shifts, overtime, or travel to client locations within the region.
