Role and school

Minimum qualifications and experience

• BA in Education, or a bachelor’s degree with a relevant teaching qualification, is essential.
• A Master’s in Education or Education Leadership, NPQH, or similar professional qualification is listed.
• At least 10 years of education experience and at least three years of school-based leadership experience as a Principal are required.

Knowledge and skills

• Fluent written and oral English, analytical decision-making, organisation, collaboration, and strong interpersonal and supervisory skills are required.
• The role calls for change management, resilience, cultural sensitivity, commercial acumen, and the ability to multitask under pressure.
• Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding is required; a clean enhanced DBS or police check is required.

Strategic leadership

• Set school aims, policies, vision, and strategic plans, supporting pupil achievement and sustained school improvement.
• Use self-evaluation and evidence to develop improvement plans, monitor policy outcomes, and ensure educational and operational compliance.
• Ensure management, finance, administration, and facilities support the school’s vision and regulatory expectations.

Teaching, learning, and staff

• Lead teaching, learning, curriculum, assessment, pupil progress, behaviour, and attendance across the school.
• Review classroom practice, challenge underperformance, and ensure corrective action and follow-up.
• Recruit, deploy, induct, develop, and manage staff performance; build high expectations and effective working relationships.

Resources and accountability

• Advise on expenditure, allocate funds, manage facilities and resources, and promote efficiency and value for money.
• Oversee health and safety procedures, risk assessments, school accommodation, and building security and maintenance reporting.
• Provide accurate performance information to Aldar Education, ADEK, parents, pupils, and other relevant audiences.

Community and safeguarding

• Build links with parents, the local community, agencies, businesses, and Aldar sister schools.
• Promote inclusive community relationships, challenge prejudice, and connect learning with the wider UAE community.
• Cooperate with relevant agencies to protect children and promote a safe, sustainable school environment.
