Overview
The role is with a boutique UAE national law firm specialising in dispute resolution, including arbitration, litigation, and expert opinion work.
The successful candidate will be working closely with senior members of the team and will be expected to support them directly on a range of high-quality legal and client-facing work.
Position
: Legal Secretary
Job Description
- Typing emails and letters in English
- Typing legal memorandums, opinions, expert reports, assessment reports and submissions in English
- Proof reading and editing the above
- Collating and organizing any documents to be sent along with the above
- Printing and maintaining a record of all the above
- Assisting the team in preparing time sheets for billing purposes
- Maintaining and managing diary dates and deadlines
Skills
- Typing speed of at least 100 WPM
- Must have strong skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Should be able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently, prioritize and get things done
- Ability to correspond independently
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (Degree in Law or English language would be an added advantage, but not a must).
Experience
Should have 7 -8 years of experience as a legal secretary in a reputed law firm, of which minimum 2-3 years in the UAE.
Language
Must have an excellent command of the English language (both written and spoken), in particular, legal terms and expressions.
Arabic is a plus.
