π Location: Middle East (with travel to East Africa)
π Contract: 6β9 months (with potential extension)
πΌ Reporting to: CEO, Exhibit Africa
Exhibit Africa is an exhibition company focused on delivering high-quality B2B platforms across East Africa.
The company combines international exhibition standards with strong regional expertise, specialising in sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and industry.
With a core strength in commercial delivery, stand build, and event operations, Exhibit Africa works with global organisers, corporates, and institutions to create impactful events that drive business, partnerships, and market access across the continent.
About the Role
- Exhibit Africa is launching a new B2B exhibition and conference focused on
- renewable energy.
- Weβre looking for a
- commercially driven Event Director
- to lead this from concept to launch.
- This is a
- build-phase role
- , not a steady-state role.
- You will be responsible for:
- Building pipeline and closing key accounts
- Driving exhibitor and sponsorship revenue
- Developing key stakeholder and partner relations
- Shaping the event and taking it to market
- Owning delivery of the first edition
- This role is best suited to someone based in the Middle East and open globally to the right candidates with strong exposure to
- Africa-facing markets and international exhibitors

Commercial (Primary Focus)
- Independantly drive exhibition space sales
- Build and manage exhibitor pipeline
- Lead outreach to: manufacturers and distributors in China, India, Turkey and the Middle East
- Lead sponsorship sales
Event Development
- Refine positioning, pricing, and commercial structure
- Shape exhibitor mix (solar, storage, EV, charging)
- Ensure strong market positioning
Project Ownership
- Own delivery timeline and key milestones
- Coordinate operations, suppliers, and local execution
- Ensure delivery on time and within budget
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build relationships with exhibitors, partners, and industry stakeholders
- Support government and institutional engagement (with local support)
Essential
- 7β12+ years in
- B2B exhibitions / trade shows
- Proven track record of:
- Selling exhibition space
- Launching or scaling events
- Strong commercial mindset
- Culturally seasoned
- Experience working with international exhibitors and Africa-facing markets
Desirable
- Energy / infrastructure sector exposure
- Existing network in: China, India, Turkey, UAE, East Africa
- Experience operating in emerging markets
Compensation
- **USD**
- 3,000 β 4,000/month
- **Uncapped commission on exhibition sales**
- Performance bonuses linked to key milestones
