Event Design Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design temporary power and temperature-control solutions for events of varying scale across the Middle East.
• Engage customers and event stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into practical engineering solutions.
• Support projects from concept and customer engagement through detailed engineering, equipment selection, tendering, installation, and delivery.
• Design power packages to meet project needs and maximize the use of fleet products.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, consultants, production companies, and industry partners.
• Produce design packs with single-line diagrams, site layouts, calculations, bills of materials, and project-specific engineering documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with company and international engineering standards, regulatory requirements, industry best practices, applicable codes, and local regulations.
• Hand over engineering work to Project Management and Operations, communicating installation requirements and technical risks.
• Provide technical expertise and solution development for strategic bids, tenders, and major customer opportunities.
• Work outside normal hours as required by the events industry.
• Collaborate with the Engineering Team on design support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Comply with health, safety, and environmental policies, operating procedures, and local legislation.

Qualifications and experience

• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of design experience in power generation, utilities, or the oil and gas industry.
• Fluent in English; a second language is advantageous.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and strong computer design skills.
• Relevant electrical or mechanical design engineering experience; temporary power and temperature-control experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of generators, LV distribution, protection, earthing, and associated electrical infrastructure.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, including chillers, AHUs, pumps, ductwork, and cooling calculations, is beneficial.
• Live events industry experience is preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, customer-facing, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with electrical or mechanical tools/software.

Technical areas of interest

• The role involves designing power packages and selecting equipment for event requirements.
• Interest in emerging technologies such as BESS, solar, and low-carbon power is noted.

Schedule

• The role regularly requires work outside normal working hours to meet event-industry demands.
