Role overview
Seeking an experienced Structural Steel Estimator / Sales & Estimation Engineer.
The role prepares project quotations, material take-offs, and cost estimates, and supports business development and client negotiations.
Industry: steel construction and structural steel.
Responsibilities
- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs for structural steel projects.
- Prepare material take-offs, quantity calculations, and cost estimates.
- Prepare competitive quotations based on material, fabrication, painting, transportation, erection, and other project costs.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations; prepare commercial proposals and submit tenders on time.
- Coordinate technical and commercial requirements with engineering, production, procurement, and project teams.
- Follow up with clients on quotations and clarifications, negotiate commercial terms, and maintain client relationships.
- Identify business opportunities, support sales activities, and maintain quotation, tender, and opportunity records.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in civil, structural, or mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of structural steel estimation experience; sales or business development experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication, erection, materials, and project costing.
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, and BOQs; experience preparing quotations and commercial proposals.
- Good negotiation, communication, and client relationship skills.
- GCC or Qatar experience is advantageous.
Compensation
- Pay is QAR 5,500–8,000 per month.
Workplace
- Work location is in person in Qatar.
