Role Description
The Estimator – Printing & Signages is a full-time, on-site role based in Al Wakrah.
This position is responsible for reviewing client inquiries and specifications, assessing technical requirements, and preparing accurate cost estimates for printing, signage, and branding projects.
The estimator will analyze materials, labor, production methods, and timelines, and draft detailed quotations and proposals in coordination with the sales and production teams.
Daily tasks include reading drawings and artwork files, clarifying requirements with clients or account managers, obtaining supplier quotes, and ensuring pricing aligns with company margins and quality standards.
The role also involves maintaining an updated database of material costs and production rates, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and collaborating with design and operations to optimize job planning and minimize waste.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in estimating for printing, signage, or related advertising production, with the ability to interpret technical specifications, artwork, and drawings.
- Proficiency in cost analysis, including materials, labor, and machine time, and familiarity with quotation preparation and job costing tools or software.
- Knowledge of printing processes (digital, offset, large-format), signage fabrication methods, substrates, inks, and finishing options.
- Solid numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with sales, design, production, and suppliers, and to clarify project requirements with stakeholders.
- Good organizational and time-management abilities, with capacity to handle multiple quotations and projects simultaneously.
- Previous experience in a print house, signage company, or advertising production environment is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel); exposure to ERP, MIS, or estimating software is an advantage.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Printing Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Commitment to quality, customer service, and continuous improvement in estimating and production planning processes.
