Role description
The Senior Estimation Engineer leads accurate and competitive cost estimates for interior fit-out and turnkey projects.
This is a full-time, on-site role in Dubai, UAE.
Responsibilities
- Review drawings and specifications, conduct quantity take-offs, and obtain material and subcontractor quotations.
- Analyze project risks and value engineering options; prepare detailed BOQs and tender documents and support bid pricing strategies.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, and project teams and clarify technical queries with consultants and clients.
- Update cost databases and estimation standards, monitor market rates, and support contract negotiations.
- Contribute to project budgeting and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Strong estimation and cost engineering skills, including quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, and tender pricing for interior fit-out projects.
- Solid technical understanding of fit-out materials and methods, including joinery, finishes, MEP interfaces, and turnkey processes.
- Proficiency in Excel, estimation software, and CAD or design tools for reviewing drawings and project details.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and value engineering skills to optimize cost while maintaining design and quality standards.
- Effective communication and coordination, organization, and time management; able to handle multiple tenders and deadlines.
- A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
- Substantial interior fit-out estimation experience in the UAE market is sought; local regulations, industry standards, and UAE market-rate experience are beneficial.
