Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Estimator role based in Dubai within the glass and aluminum industry.
The Estimator will review project drawings, specifications, and site conditions to prepare accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for fabrication and installation works.
Responsibilities include obtaining and analyzing supplier and subcontractor quotations, preparing detailed proposals, and updating cost databases to reflect current market prices.
The Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and the sales team to clarify technical requirements, identify value engineering options, and support bid submissions and contract negotiations.
The role also involves monitoring project costs against estimates, updating forecasts as needed, and maintaining organized records of all estimates and related documentation.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in cost estimation, quantity take-offs, and bid preparation for glass, aluminum, or related construction projects.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, technical specifications, and shop drawings.
- Proficiency with estimation and spreadsheet software (e.g., MS Excel) and familiarity with industry-specific tools for take-offs and pricing.
- Knowledge of glass and aluminum systems, fabrication processes, installation methods, materials, and current market rates.
- Solid analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in calculations and documentation.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and clients in a professional manner.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tenders and deadlines in a fast-paced contracting environment.
- Relevant technical qualification or diploma/degree in engineering, quantity surveying, or a related field; prior UAE or GCC experience is an advantage.
