Job Description
ERGIL is seeking a Technical Drafting & Estimation Coordinator to join its Estimation Department in Dubai.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing technical drawings during the quotation stage, coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors, obtaining quotations, and providing technical clarifications to support accurate costing and sourcing decisions.
The position will play a key role in supporting ERGIL's outsourcing strategy by helping the company evaluate manufacturing options, improve cost accuracy, and accelerate project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and revise technical drawings for equipment and fabrication packages during the quotation stage.
- Prepare and issue RFQs (Request for Quotation) to suppliers and subcontractors.
- Review supplier quotations and support technical and commercial bid comparisons.
- Respond to technical questions from suppliers and provide necessary clarifications.
- Coordinate with suppliers to close technical and commercial open points during the quotation process.
- Support cost estimation activities by obtaining accurate supplier pricing and manufacturing information.
- Maintain technical communication with suppliers, fabricators, and subcontractors.
- Organize and transfer all technical documentation, supplier information, and quotation records to the Project Management Department upon project award.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Industrial Design, Construction Technology, Drafting, or a related technical field; experienced draftsmen with relevant industry experience are also encouraged to apply.
- 2-5 years experience.
- Strong ability to prepare and interpret technical drawings.
- Proficient in AutoCAD.
- Experience in fabrication drawings, welded structures, pressure vessels, steel structures, piping, or process equipment is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand technical specifications and engineering documents in English.
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers (pre-award)
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced quotation and project environment.
- Purpose of the Position
- The primary objective of this role is to support ERGIL's quotation and sourcing activities by preparing technical documentation, coordinating supplier communications, obtaining accurate manufacturing costs, and ensuring a smooth transition from the quotation phase to project execution.
