Role overview
Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for HVAC projects by reviewing tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
Coordinate quantity take-offs, supplier and subcontractor pricing, cost analysis, and competitive tender preparation.
Responsibilities
- Review tender materials and prepare HVAC quantity take-offs covering ductwork, chilled-water and refrigerant piping, insulation, and accessories.
- Estimate equipment, material, labor, installation, testing, and commissioning costs.
- Obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations; prepare RFQs and follow up for competitive pricing.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, and project teams; identify tender discrepancies, omissions, and risks.
- Prepare cost breakdowns, rate analyses, and timely tender submissions; support value engineering and cost optimization.
- Maintain tender records, support clarification meetings and commercial negotiations, and follow applicable specifications, standards, and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a similar discipline.
- At least five years of relevant HVAC project-estimation experience in an MEP company.
- Experience preparing accurate HVAC project estimates and quotations.
- Strong understanding of quantity take-offs, supplier and subcontractor coordination, cost analysis, and competitive tender preparation.
