Role Description
The ER Head Nurse is a full-time, on-site role based in Jeddah, responsible for leading and coordinating all nursing activities in the emergency department.
This role oversees triage, patient flow, and nursing assignments to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality emergency care.
Daily responsibilities include supervising nursing staff, providing clinical guidance, and ensuring adherence to hospital policies, protocols, and infection control standards.
The ER Head Nurse collaborates closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals, supports critical decision-making in urgent situations, and addresses complex patient care needs.
Additional duties include mentoring and training staff, managing schedules, monitoring performance and documentation quality, and contributing to quality improvement and patient-satisfaction initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Nursing and Emergency Nursing, with demonstrated ability to lead care in an emergency department setting.
- Proficiency in Medicine and Critical Care Medicine principles relevant to emergency and acute care environments.
- Proven Patient Care skills, with a focus on safety, comfort, clear communication, and a service-oriented approach.
- Valid nursing license and appropriate professional registration as required by local regulations.
- Several years of clinical experience in emergency or critical care, including prior leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
- Excellent team leadership, conflict-resolution, and coaching skills, with the ability to support a diverse, multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, including experience with staffing, scheduling, and workload prioritization.
- Competence in electronic medical records and basic digital tools for documentation and communication.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in Nursing (or equivalent); advanced certifications in emergency or critical care nursing are an advantage.
- Commitment to continuous learning, quality improvement, and delivering a high standard of patient experience.
